Courses during weeks 3-22 (January 16- June 2).

Language Development, Equivalence and Language Teaching (EN 423B/434B) – Emphasizes didactics, computer-assisted language learning, assessment, self-assessment, and alternative assessment for the teaching of English for grades K-6.

Texts, Communication and Language Knowledge (EN 431B) – Focuses on the development of English grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation skills and pedagogy that aligns with the Swedish national curriculum for grade 4-6.

Language Development and Language Teaching (EN 403C/407C/414C) – Introduces theories and educational movements for language teaching, analysis of learner texts, and lesson planning for second semester pre-service teachers preparing to teach at the secondary (grades 7/9) and upper secondary levels (grades 10-12) with English as their first, second or third subject of specialization.

Text, Culture, and Language (EN 424C) – Overview of sociolinguistic factors affecting language learning and use including gender, class, region and ethnicity with an emphasis on corpus-based research and the writing of an annotated bibliography.

Degree Project – Supervision and examination of undergraduate bachelor theses for students specializing in teaching English at the primary (grades K-6) and upper secondary levels (grades 10-12).

Student Teaching Supervision (VFU) – Mentoring and classroom observation of student teaching by fourth semester students specializing in teaching English at the secondary (grades 7/9) and upper secondary levels (grades 10-12).
